Long Term Test Drive: Rainier

A few months ago, we were able to obtain a free Rainier for reviewing and playing with. Our Rainier has performed admirably over the summer, however, we have had some problems with it. For one, it has had some serious exhaust issues. Every morning, we find that our Rainier has dropped some very smelly liquid out of its tailpipe. It is rather disgusting to clean up after. We have also noticed a LOT of noise issues with our Rainier. It is very noisy.

But the good news is that our Rainier is very quick. We've also found our Rainier has GREAT traction. I mean, literally, our Rainier can climb just about anything. I've never seen anything climb faster than our Rainier.

Overall, our impression of our Rainier has been a positive one, despite some of the smelly and noisy drawbacks. Every once in a while, we joke about returning our Rainier, but the truth is, we're very happy with him.

Take a look at some of the pictures of our Rainier when we took delivery of him. For comparison, you can see our Rainier with our MUCH MUCH larger Melvin model.

Funny, I did not realize this post was a setup until I read, "Rainier has GREAT traction"... then I knew something was wrong.
